The past month has been a rough one for everyone. The threat of the coronavirus isn't something that should be taken lightly though while quarantined we find ourselves missing the things we once took for granted. Having the option to go out wherever we wanted, being around large groups of people, being able to eat in at our favorite restaurants. While it is sad, being quarantined has given us the chance to take up new hobbies and to give us the chance to work on projects. Personally, I have taken up animating once again. A few short sequences here and there to get the juices flowing once more but it is something that I have really enjoyed. Both animations were done using two different methods. The first one, we'll call our little blob friend Gnocchi, was done utilizing frame by frame animation. Each frame was drawn individually. As with it being the first, it is a little choppy and had some continuity issues, but it was a fun test.
The second was done utilizing key frames. As the background was a static image, the easiest part was to adjust the positioning of the orb and the opacity of the the glow for each key frame. I look forward to doing more experiments with animation, even as just a way to see some ideas come to life beyond art. I hope everyone of you stay safe and exercise caution during this time.
